ABOUT COSIR KENYA


COMMUNITY SUPPORT INITIATIVES FOR REFUGEES
Community Support Initiative for Refugees is a not-for-profit group based and operating in Nairobi,Kenya. It is a creational, educational and awareness programs group for refugees committed to provide sustainable economic empowerment activities, life skills, mentoring, talents enhancing and self-awareness with techniques of communal sensitization, workshops and peer education for the beneficiaries.

Community Support Initiative for Refugees focuses mostly on the most valunerable refugees who fled their home countries due to fear of persecution and fleeing for their lives as a result of their sexual orientation and have failed to sustain themselves economically due to their status in the host communities.

To create a sustainable environment for every refugee in Kenya.

OUR MISSION
To improve the lives of refugees in urban areas through education, health awareness, economic empowerment and social amenities.

OUR GOAL
To promote and create economic awareness activities, care and support to less privileged and uptake of refugees support in Nairobi and urban Slums.


COSIR OBJECTIVES

1. To find solutions and fund initiatives for economic empowerment and sustainable job creations and this will enable the beneficiaries to live a normal life like other citizens.
2. To expand affordable quality health in the communities and this will bridge the gap between persons of different gender and health treatment services.
  1. Home and community based Care and support for refugees to enhance their talents and creation of employment opportunities.
  2. To provide services that are directed towards a people born with congenital disorders free society by running a responsive  programs geared towards mitigation
  3. To facilitate community harmony and tolerance through peace building and conflict resolution.
  4. To provide literacy, knowledge and lifelong education aimed at empowering target group with portable skills.
  5. To build capacities to the most disadvantaged groups within society to increase productivity and equality including the minorities.
